Celebrity Couples and making it!

It seems that every celebrity has that moment. The unforgettable moment, he or she realizes he or she is no longer just another actor, rock star, pop star, athlete or writer. It is the moment a stranger stops, points and says, He is a star. Many people think that stars have overnight success, forgetting the years of low-paying, bit parts in B movies they had to endure before they suddenly appeared in People magazine. Let us explore the tender, but generally inexplicable world, of celebrity romance. Of course, the most obvious factor is the lack of privacy. As you know, non-celebrity couples have prying parents, while celebrity couples have to deal with hordes of paparazzi and corybantic fans. The common couples have arguments, while the celebrity couples have the cover of Star magazine. Yes, normal people discuss their relationships with family and friends, while celebrities all issue statements confirming or denying reports. The pressure on celebrities is huge. Pressed by encircling pressure from their inner circle, fan base, and the public at large, it is no wonder they keep romance top secret. The media's latest craze with celebrity couples is the combo name.

Let's look back at the celebrity couples.  Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes is, TomKat.  Mr. & Mrs. Smith are referred to Brangelina. Renee Zellweger and Kenny Chesney, are considered the rare instance of the womans name going first, RenKen. Ben Affleck and Jennifer Garner, are Bennifer 2, or BenJen.

Celebrities, Tennis Stars and the Paparazzi!

Well, yesterday was certainly interesting. The Divas, spent the day with Rafa Nadal, Andy Roddick and Roger Federer. You had to be there to see us hiding in the bushes to shoot some pics of Nadal while he was practicing on the tennis court. No one was allowed in. No one.

Parking in New York, especially at the US Open is not cheap, so be prepared to spend nineteen dollars. Then don't forget that yesterday was a hot, blazing day so in order to quench our thirst we bought two bottled waters for a grand total of $9.50. Hungry? Well, they ran out of chicken sandwiches by 12:30 p.m., so we settled for a roast beef flat bread for $9.50 each, That was our lunch.

After we received our CBS little packet, we then walked up to the Stadium, where we settled in our seats. Remind us to bring pillows next time, the seats are really hard! Let the show begin, of course, after the national anthem.

The Jo Bros were the opening act, followed by Demi Lovato, David Archuletta, Shontelle, and  special guest Nick Canon. All Star closed the show. In between the acts, we had Nadal and Federer entertain us.

I have to edit some videos now, so I will go more into details.

What's in a name?

Nowadays you don’t have to be a celebrity to name your child Talula Does The Hula. We all know that celebrities love to be different, and part of that uniqueness is giving a child a bizarre name. It’s okay for kids of celebrities because they live a celebrity lifestyle. However, for an ordinary child from an ordinary family in an ordinary town, a name like these celebrities kids’ names could cause distress, emotional pain and scarring.

According to published reports, a family court judge in New Zealand has had enough with parents giving their children bizarre names, and decided to do something about it. Imagine naming your child, Talula Does The Hula From Hawaii. The judge had her renamed. Judge Rob Murfitt made the 9-year-old girl a ward of the court so that her name could be changed, he said in a ruling made public on July 24, 2008. The child was involved in a custody battle, and her new name was not made public, to protect her privacy, he said. The judge said the name “makes a fool of the child and sets her up with a social disability and handicap, unnecessarily.” The child had been so embarrassed at the name that she had never told her closest friends what it was. She told people to call her “K” instead, the child’s attorney, Colleen MacLeod, told the court. Bizarre names have been blocked by officials, including Fish and Chips, Yeah Detroit, Keenan Got Lucy and Sex Fruit, he said.

Susan Boyle sings for the Pope!

Unless you’ve been living under a rock, there’s a good chance you’ve already heard of the jaw-dropping performance of internet sensation Susan Boyle. Trust me, you can’t judge a book by its cover. The performance of then 48-year-old, cheeky-looking, woman auditioning for “Britain’s Got Talent” will leave anyone speechless and amazed. I know I was. The church volunteer from Scotland has taken the world by storm, with her unique and humble ways. Her performance on the TV show was brilliant, and the YouTube videos of her performance have received more than 30 million hits hence leading to worldwide publicity. Ms. Boyle, who says in the video that she’s never been married, never been kissed and lives with her cat Pebbles, went on stage to skeptical looks from the shocked audience and judges. When she sang “I Dreamed a Dream” from “Les Miserables” the audience went wild and even charmed “American Idol” judge Simon Cowell. She was known by locals as the woman who lived alone with her cat and occasionally sang at the pub’s karaoke night. Her sudden popularity has everyone watching, especially anyone trying to get into the music industry over 30 years old. You know it's hard.

This is huge, since it’s not every day you see an ordinary woman become an overnight sensation. It captures the power of the people, and those that support the art of a beautiful voice, looking beyond beauty. This incredible singer is truly an inspiration to many, who never get the so called “showbiz break.” Susan’s local paper, the West Lothian Courier, has even likened her impact in America to that of the Beatles four decades ago.

Simon Cowell would be pleased if her success mirrored the 2007 winner Paul Potts. His goose-bumps-performance has now made him a multi-million-dollar record deal with talks under way of making a Hollywood movie based on his life. You may remember him as the former Carphone Warehouse employee from Wales.  Ashton Kutcher and Demi Moore have been credited with helping Britain’s Got Talent contestant Susan Boyle achieve global internet fame. Now Miss Boyle is going to sing for the Pope.

Summer of 2010!

Summer just flew by didn’t it? Somehow, you meant to take that European vacation; however, it just didn’t happen. Now, Labor Day is soon upon us. A day for picnics and backyard barbeques, and a time to celebrate America’s everyday heroes-the working people. It’s back to school time, the hunt for the school supply list is over. Just around the corner, is the beautiful fall foliage. As the summer sun fades to a gentle glow, and the holding of hands by the campfire comes to an end. The summer of 2010, will be remembered for what? Go ahead knock yourself out, and leave your comments.

Let us know what the "Summer of 2010" will be remembered for?

Now hear this!

If you were annoyed with people always saying Ciao! Or people playing loud, obnoxious music in their car- from their boom, boom car stereos, not everyone wants to hear their music. Admit it: You didn’t think it would possible. Yes, there is something more annoying than all of the above, and it’s cell phone users who chat in public. These people are so annoying, they walk in a zombie-like stupor, chatting away about nothing interesting. How do we know this? We hear the conservation, and we hear the responses. Quite frankly, people are ready to keel over from extreme boredom. Of course, the people who chat on cell phones with interesting conversations (hot stock tips, or when the job market will open up) invariably whisper, or walk away for privacy. There could be one possible explanation for this behavior: they want to be noticed and heard.

Are the lonely, seeking attention, or do they just want to annoy the heck out of you?

Facebook, Twitter, MySpace, what next?

Plenty of ordinary people are fleeing Facebook because of the many concerns about eroding privacy on the beloved social networking site that is known by many simply as FB. Facebook has an estimated 400 million users, and when it went public in 2005, default privacy settings kept personal information out of the hands of people who were not users, in other words known as “friends,” on the website.

Recently, the default settings have turned the other way, putting more users’ information out there for the whole world to see. From what I understand, there is a concern that personal information will land in the wrong hands. Contact and interest data on Facebook profiles is being shared with partner sites such as Pandora, Microsoft, and more. It was later announced that the website had a new feature to ramp up security. So if you want to protect yourself on Facebook click Privacy Settings and make sure you adjust your privacy settings next to all 12 categories on the page. So with all this in mind, everyone is trying to get famous these days, they turn to Facebook and YouTube to promote themselves, regardless of privacy issues.

It's quiet disturbing the lengths that people will go to promote themselves. Is all that information necessary? I'm going to take a shower now, taking pictures of their dinner, going to work now, going to sleep now, showing off with basketball players, baseball players, you get the jist. Now, we even have a revamped MySpace back. Poor Myspace,  is trying to keep up with the times, however, this month, the site had less than 50 milllion visitors.

In today’s society computers have become an absolute necessity, from online banking to shopping, paying bills, online chatting, and web-surfing. Just about everything can be researched on the computer. The possibilities are simply endless! Unless you’ve just arrived from a long vacation from Mars, you’ve heard about the search engine “Google.” Curiosity seekers have used the term "I’ve googled him (or her).” Unless you don’t exist or are an underachiever, you probably won’t find a match.

Jonas Brothers play Softball

The Jonas Brothers are on a mission with “X the TXT” joining forces with the insurance company Allstate. According to Allstate, people who text while driving are more likely to crash. If the bill is passed the STANDUP act creates uniform GDL standards across all 50 states. Besides touring the country with their music, the Jo.Bros. are also traveling with the “Road Dogs” softball tour to raise teen awareness about the dangers of texting and driving. They asked teens and their families at the Riverfront Stadium in Newark, New Jersey on August 23 to take a pledge by adding their thumbprint to a huge banner. After adding their thumbprints, fans had their pictures taken and added to the Jonas Brothers Facebook page. Fans were also given thumb band rings as a reminder of their commitment which reads “TXTNG KLLS.” While, the “Road Dogs” lost 19-10 , the fans still enjoyed watching the brothers play softball in the rain. The bonus Jonas, Frankie was the bat boy. For more information go to www.saferoads4teens.org .

Weekend at the Hamptons!

It was an epic weekend. The Divas were invited to a party in the Hamptons on August 21, at a private residence in East Hampton. The divas went shopping  at Tiffany's, Coach, Dylan's Candy Bar, Juicy Couture.  Incredible. The night ended with fireworks at Westhampton Beach. Wow! The same day Howard Stern and his other half , Mrs. Beth Ostrosky Stern hosted the benefit for"Wildlife Rescue Center" in the Hamptons.

Getting to the Hamptons was another story. It took us over 4 hours, the traffic was bumper to bumper after the Verrazano Bridge. After making a pit stop, we were on our way again. The Hamptons are really hopping on the Weekend, and no one really prepared us for all the traffic in Bridgehampton and SouthHampton.

Finally we arrive at the party, one hour and half late. Fashionably late, you think! We then ventured  out to breathtaking Sag Harbor, for more shopping and just hanging out. Next time we will need about two weeks.

Do you Tweet?

If you are already on Twitter, you are part of the latest trend. The popular microblog is difficult to comprehend, yet simple to master. It’s all about communicating with family, friends and co-workers by sending quick messages in 140 characters or less. Some people may feel reluctant to sign up for an account in the Twitter universe due to stalkers, especially if you’re a part of the entertainment industry. We all know how uncomfortable it feels when people begin acting creepy; you should be extremely careful. Then, of course, you have the Twitter-fearing friends that just don’t get it.

Twitter was co-founded by Evan Williams, now the company’s chief executive, and Biz Stone. Mr. Evan Williams has struck gold once again, with the company valued at $1 billion, according to a report in Techcrunch. It was Evan Williams who developed the prototype for blogging back in the late ‘90s, which became known as Blogger.com. It was sold to Google in 2004.

Unlike Facebook, that is valued at $500 million and has paid ads, Twitter is a mystery to many how it survives without ads. The key to the success of Twitter, besides having the world’s most powerful people signed on as Twitter users, is the fact that the site is the preferred vehicle of communications. As Twitter continues to bring on more users, estimated at over 45 million as of three months ago, the site will attract more revenue opportunities.

You will see messages from pop stars to Average Joes venting out their frustrations. Ashton Kutcher, Demi Moore, Dame Elizabeth Taylor, Pamela Anderson, Joel Madden, Kirstie Alley, Jamie Foxx, Thalia, Ricky Martin and Larry King are just a few of the stars on Twitter. You might even be lucky enough to have followers.

Now here is a good one, if Lady Gaga was to join the Goo Goo Dolls, she would be known as Goo Goo Gaga. Funny!

Freaky Friday!

Their tans haven’t quite faded, the temperatures are still hot, but it’s time to trade in their bathing suits and surf boards for North Face backpacks, textbooks and No.2 pencils. If you’re among the many parents that clocked some serious back-to-school shopping miles, you know that the troubled economy has made allowances on wallets that are skinnier than the jeans. Economy is getting so bad that many people are dipping into their 401K, or taking out all the funds as a hardship case.

Well, it's Friday, TGIF, let's keep it drama-free. Lot's of sales going on tomorrow at Macy's, for those that could afford the bargains.Beautiful weekend coming up, so let's enjoy! Don't forget to pick up your Mega-millions lottery ticket. Who knows, you might just win!

Concerns on Facebook!

No need to flee Facebook, just check out the privacy settings.

Moving Forward!

It’s really shocking when you learn that you’ve been cheated on. It is quite devastating; it feels like you have been kicked in the gut and tossed into a gutter. You stay up all night watching romantic movies, crying and your boyfriends become Ben & Jerry’s ice cream. You start asking yourself the same question over and over, “Once a cheater, always a cheater?" Of course, when you’re a celebrity, it hurts so much more. The whole world knows your private business. However, there are celebrities that learn and grow from the painful emotional hurricane and the loss of closeness in relationship that are the aftermaths of cheating. It also helps when a celebrity has the support of an army of fans. Jesse who? Spike TV says Sandra Bullock made a surprise appearance at its “Guys Choice” event in Culver City, Calif.

It looks like Sandra is moving forward. Spike says Sandra Bullock received a standing ovation from the audience at Sony Pictures Studios on June 5, when she accepted the “Troops Choice” Award for Entertainer of the Year. The award was voted by members of the military. The 45-year-old actress has kept a very low profile since her public split from husband Jesse James after she won the Best Actress Oscar for her role in “The Blind Side” earlier this year. Spike’s “Guys Choice” aired on June 20.

Sandra Bullock and Scarlett Johansson made everyone forget about Bullock’s personal woes on June 6, when they shared a kiss onstage at the MTV Movie Awards. It was her second public appearance since she and the world discovered that her hubby Jesse James had been cheating on her. Betty White and Bradley Cooper, Bullock’s co-stars from “All About Steve,” presented Bullock with her MTV Generation Award; Johansson joined them onstage and angled for a kiss. After a quick smooch, Sandra said, “Now that we have done that, can we please go back to normal?” Now we hear that Sandra's ex, has the hots for Kat,yes the Tattoo queen.

Speaking of normal, imagine Lady Gaga going from “Fame Monster” to space monster-if “Doctor Who” scriptwriter Gareth Roberts has his way. The pop star who has a passion for wearing unique far-out costumes makes her a shoo-in to guest star on the long-running cult British science fiction series. From what I heard, Gaga hasn’t signed on the dotted line. Singer Kylie Minogue previously guest starred on the 2007 Christmas special episode, “Voyage of the Damned,” playing the Doctor’s companion. The role was specifically written for her.

Comedy Camp!

Forget medical school. If you want your kids to support you in your old age, send your kids to comedy camp. According to Time Warner, which owns the series “Seinfeld” the show has made an incredible $2.7 billion, since it went off the air 12 years ago. TV studios hardly ever reveal the amounts made by their most successful TV series, but at an investors’ conference late last month, execs spilled the beans about how the show was such a moneymaker. The amazing figure was revealed by Barry Meyer, chairman of Warner Brothers Entertainment, which has the rights to the Seinfeld series. The details of the report were carried by the trade magazine The Hollywood Reporter. The numbers indicate that reruns on regular TV have grossed $2.3 billion since 1998. Revenues from cable were about $380 million, reported execs.

Get this, “Seinfeld” which made 180 episodes during its nine-year run, means that each half-hour episode has earned more than $14 million so far. The numbers don’t include what the show or its stars made on the original run of the show on NBC. Forbes magazine has been estimating for years that Jerry makes between $65-80 million a year from reruns of the show. Creators Jerry Seinfeld and Larry David have made hundreds of millions of dollars from syndication.

“Seinfeld” was well-acted, well-written, and people related to the characters, which in other words, was plain funny. Comedy shows if they are well-written can last forever, just like the old-time favorite “I Love Lucy.” The show still makes us laugh today, it’s funny. Women watch more prime time TV than men, women watch everything, and men watch sports. Hopefully someday the TV execs will realize that, and will stop catering to the 18- to-34-year old males.

Summer Movies and more!

There is something about summer that warms the heart. Whatever the cause, it looks like Hollywood celebrities decided to tie the knot this summer. Let's hope they don't decide to divorce in the winter. It seems that the sudden news of Orlando Bloom and Miranda Kerr's secret wedding made us realize that this summer has been a plethora of celebrity nuptials. Here come the brides: Carrie Underwood and Mike Fisher tied the knot on July 10. While in Italy, on the same day John Krasinski and Emily Blunt married, reportedly George Clooney was in attendance. Penelope Cruz and Javier Bardem, who along with Lladro, are Spain’s hottest exports, tied the knot in an intimate ceremony in the Bahamas earlier this month.Cruz,36, met Bardem,41, around 2007, when they starred again as lovers in Woody Allen’s “Vicky Christina Barcelona,” but kept the relationship private.

Meanwhile, George Clooney hasn’t tied the knot yet, however will be recognized for his humanitarian efforts at the Emmy Awards. The Academy of Television Arts and Sciences will present the 49-year-old actor with its Bob Hope Humanitarian Award at the ceremony next month. Clooney is also being honored for his”Hope for Haiti” TV special, which is nominated for an Emmy award next month. Clooney is the fourth recipient of the honor and will be presented the award at the Emmy ceremony on August 29.

Summer is also the time when Hollywood brings out the big guns .It’s the time when movie buffs get that warm fuzzy feeling inside, like melted butter dripping on top of freshly machine popped popcorn. This summer is no different than last year, we have our usual sequels, remakes, comic book adaptations, and the big hit of all time 3-D. Just when we had completely forgotten about the circle of trust. “Little Fockers” will come to a theater near you on July 30. Ben Stiller (Greg Focker) and Teri Polo (Pamela Byrnes-Focker are expecting a baby. On August 6, “The Other Guys” an action comedy with Mark Wahlberg and Will Ferrell. An interesting pair to team up. Hopefully, reteaming with director Adam McKay should help.

Blockbusters can always look after themselves, but other more serious films count on critics. Most likely, “Little Fockers” will be a hit, because Ben Stiller is hilarious. Everyone knows that good reviews build the box-office for every film, especially the smaller pictures, and the waning number of critics has meant waning profits. Sometimes being true to your opinions but also putting things in perspective and in context, may not appeal to every movie-goer.They will also wonder why you raved about it, when they thought it was disastrous. Now from the point of view of the movie studios, there’s another problem, a uniformity of opinions which could mean a uniformity of pans. So do reviews matter? Let me put it to you this way, the entertainment section which features reviews is the second-most read section of a newspaper, after sports. So the next time, you read a review, which is a part of journalism, and it says, “You’ve got to see this.” Go!

Hanging out with the Jonas Brothers!

Back to School!

As most moms know, it’s almost school time again! Most of you are probably feeling excited and maybe a bit sad that summer is almost over. Some kids feel nervous or a little scared on the first day of school because of all the new things going on, such as new teachers, new friends or perhaps even a new school. One thing is for sure, these days, school supplies are always an expense at the beginning of each school year. For families with more than one child in school, it can be heavy on the budget. The average family could spend as much as over six hundred dollars on back-to-school supplies. Granted, if your child goes to private school, then don’t forget to tack on a few hundred dollars to that bill for textbooks.

With that said, around the nation, groups are working hard to help needy kids get school supplies and are seeing a significant rise in the number of kids that need help. With so many celebrities on social networks, you would think that someone would reach out.

Elvis is still Alive!

Springsteen might be the boss; however Elvis was the King of Rock & Roll. August 16 marked the 33rd anniversary of Elvis Presley’s death, who died on Aug 16, 1977. Around the nation, tribute artists came out to entertain. Elvis Week is held every year in Memphis, Tennessee, ending with a candlelight vigil from the gates of the Graceland property up the driveway to Elvis’ gravesite and back down. The vigil typically lasts until the early morning hours of August 16.Elvis is still alive! Well, not really, but in spirit he is.

Now according to the Associated Press, Elvis Presley’s granddaughter Riley Keough is set to star in the next Mad Max movie. Keough will play one of the Five Wives, a group of women Max has to save, the Associated Press reports. Oh, and his grandson is the spitting image of him too.

Should be interesting to see!

Hanging out with the Jonas Brothers!!

Hey everyone, on August 14th, the Jonas Brothers which consist of Joe,Nick and Kevin performed at Hershey Park,in Pennsylvania. While the Hershey Park Stadium holds a capacity of 30,000 people it was almost full. Fans were waiting on them by the side entrance, hoping to see them while they did their soundcheck. While many fans decided to take a complimentary tour of Chocolate World, an inspirational tour of a man (Milton Hershey) who created a multi-billion empire with a dream. The concert was filled with tweens, teeny-boppers and their parents. The opening acts were the cast members of Camp Rock 2, which the DVD comes out Sept. 3.

After 45 minutes, Demi Lovato steps out on stage to perform some of her hits from her first album titled "Don't Forget." The JoBros finally came out around 9pm,  with Joe and Demi performing a duet" This Is Me." Awkward at first, since Papa Jonas  had to break-up the relationship. Remaining friends, they seemed happy together. Demi looked great, she changed outfits a few times, however the purple shiny dress was the most attractive.

The concert was really special since Joe Jonas was celebrating his 21st birthday the very next day. His sister-in-law Danielle presented him with a birthday cake on stage. The fans were delighted to sing "Happy Birthday" to Joe.The concert was a hit for all ages, including the older Moms who joined in and danced to the Beatles song "Drive My Car" dedicated to the parents.

The concert was over at 10:15pm, and we saw girls running out of the stadium, hoping to catch a glimpse of the Jonas brothers leaving in their tour bus. The JoBros ran to the tour bus where it took them less than 2 minutes to jump on the bus and leave with the police escort. Sorry girls, maybe next time.

If you want to see some great pictures of them, let us know. We were that close that you can actually see the sweat on their faces..LOL

What's Happening?!?

Welcome back to the heat wave! The weather continues to be warm and humid, which has drained the life right out of us. So I will make this short so that I can cool down and avoid a heat stroke. Hopefully the weather will be a little bit better on the weekend since we have several events to attend. Even though it's warm, we managed the other day to upload some videos. Speaking of which, ever since our "It'Sugar" video went out to the masses, a" Pop Tarts Store" opens up in New York. It's kind of interesting, it has different flavors of pop-tarts that you can choose from based on your exquisite taste buds.

When we visit North Carolina again, we will have to stop at the Hinnant Family Vineyards.... a tradition in the making for over 30 years. We just didn't have the time to visit since we were coming home from Myrtle Beach.

It's hard to believe that summer is almost over and there is 4 months left for Christmas! If you are ever in South Hill, Virginia on a Saturday night from 7-9 pm to be exact, you should check out Wally the Wacky Waiter! He does comedy, magic, balloon sculptors, all that service that will make you smile at Applebee's.

Well, did everyone hear about the flight attendant who flipped out? The problem is that according to published reports,  his father had recently died, and his mother is dying of lung cancer so he really had a lot on his plate. Granted, what he did was a little drastic, but considering everything he is going through they should reconsider. Despite his recent fame, Stephen Slater of Jet Blue Airlines,  is being called a hero to some. He even has several fan pages on Facebook. So let's join!!

Talk to you soon!

A day of R&R!

Well, today was a day of rest and relaxation. We spent the day uploading videos, unpacking, and facing reality. The reality is that we are sitting here tonight brainstorming our business plans. In this bad economy we are actually venturing out. More details to follow....

I am not sure if we are allowed to film in court, however, we have to translate for someone who received a summons for traffic violations. That should be interesting... It said that the person in question, (who was quite feisty) didn't respect the officer when reprimanded. That would have been a really funny video.

In the meantime, we are tired of uploading videos, so we are going to call it a night.

What a surprise!

Just arrived from Myrtle Beach!

This is our first blog, and I hope you enjoy reading this!

It was simply amazing. I was wearing one of my t-shirts titled, "Actions speak louder than blogs." I could not have received any more glares or compliments. Myrtle Beach was very serene and peaceful. The two bedroom, two bath, condo exceeded my expectations once again. It took us about a day and a half to arrive at Myrtle Beach. The traffic in Manassas, Virginia was bumper-to-bumper, and stretched miles long.  We made a stop in Stafford, Virginia in a supermarket to pick up some salad and other essentials after 4 hours of sitting in traffic. We finally decided to call it a night in Roanoke Rapids, North Carolina. Of course it is always a plus when you can redeem points for loyalty at the Hilton Family Hotels.

Dinner at Ryan's Buffet can feed a family of four for under $50 for those families on a strict budget. The next day we were off on the road again with a couple of rest area stops, we arrived at our condo at around 4 pm, check- in time. The rooms were not ready for us, so we went to Super Wal-Mart and purchased a few more items for a quiet first evening dinner. We gazed into the night sitting in our patio overlooking lake Arrowhead and admiring the sunset.

Myrtle Beach is not only a golfers paradise, but also a beach lovers' dream. The water temperature in August is about 85 degrees daily. Even if it rains for a brief period the sun always seems to shine minutes later, and no one panics and leaves the beach.

The Southern hospitality of Myrtle Beach is outstanding and overwhelming. I only wish New-Yorkers could catch on and follow their footsteps. The week in our condo was simply amazing. It had everything we needed, comparable to our home. Unlike a hotel, where you can just sleep and watch television, having a condo includes the many varieties and amenities available to you at home.

One of the many highlights of the trip, was picking our own 25 pound juicy watermelon as well as South Carolina peaches. Followed by "Broadway at the Beach," where the fireworks were breathtaking. The short but elaborate fireworks display left us speechless. After the fireworks, we wandered off on the boardwalk were we encountered not only a funny magician, but also a sweet-tooth lovers' paradise store called "It's Sugar." Every type of candy you can possibly imagine was easily accessible and every color of M&M's were stacked in tubes from waist-level to the ceiling.

For crafty people like us, who enjoy making our own jewelry, seashells were bountiful in all shapes and colors. Snails, mussels, and a school of fish were seen in the clear ocean waters. Its no wonder people from Alabama, Mississippi, and Florida flocked to the Grand Strand. The oil spills were definitely not in Myrtle Beach.  We swam in the pristine crystal-clear water.

It was sad to leave but we had to return back home. On the return, we stopped in Baltimore, Maryland which was beautiful. We highly recommend it. At a tourist stop area, a very knowledgeable man gave us sightseeing information on what to do in Baltimore. On of the main attractions was at the Inner Harbor. The world trade center, the national aquarium, port discovery, children's museum, historic ships in Baltimore, including the Chesapeake, USS Constellation, and many more. We were very fortunate that we found a two-hour parking meter by Gay Street, on a Friday night, considering they had the baseball game nearby at the stadium. For those of you not that fortunate, they do have parking garages on Gay Street for about $6-$10 to par your vehicle. Seafood restaurants were just about on every corner. If you have time, you can take a ride on the water taxi, or the kids would love the dragon boats. We managed to get a quick glimpse of everything. We topped off our evening with a stop at the Cheesecake Factory. They also have plenty of shopping. As divas, we had to make a few pit stops at the shopping centre in the Harbor around the Broadway pier.

Driving back home, from Maryland be prepared to pay about $20 in tolls one way. What a shame. They charged $5 for a two- axle vehicle exiting Maryland, and $4 entering Delaware. In addition, $6 was for entering New Jersey. How many times do we pay for the roads. Unlike the North or South Carolina roads where you do not pay any tolls.
